Trauma globally represents an overwhelming burden of morbidity and mortality. Effective management with trauma teams has proven to reduce time to resuscitation and definitive care leading to decreased mortality and length of stay of trauma patients. Building upon previous partnership we undertook to implement and evaluate Collaborative Advanced Trauma Care (CATC) at a public teaching hospital in Ethiopia, based on course developed in Pakistan. A total of 140 participants were trained in CATC (83 physicians, 57 nurses), with improvement in fundamental trauma knowledge and leadership and teamwork. These findings are similarly reflective of evaluation scores of CATC in Pakistan, demonstrating that CATC can be expanded in settings that share similar medical education and emergency department structures.
